Visual Brand Language: Permissions

A usage guide for design elements.

NOT Permitted

MSA branding and brand elements are NOT allowed to be used in the following ways.

DO NOT alter or imitate the MSA logo or elements

Do not imitate the MSA logo or other distinct brand elements, including our identity, visual design components, color pallets, product designs, etc.

DO NOT imply endorsement

Do not use the MSA logo or any brand elements to imply partnership, sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation in any way that does not exist.

DO NOT use our name in your name or brand

The MSA name and/or any registered or trademarked names must not be placed into your brand, title, product name, website domain, slogan, tagline, etc.

Needs Permission

You may be allowed to use MSA collateral or brand elements in the following ways, but you must receive guidance and approval from the MSA Brand Council. Work with your local MSA Representative for requests and approvals.

Use approved marketing collateral

You may use MSA-approved marketing materials according to guidance from MSA Marketing or your local MSA Representative.

Co-brand marketing collateral

Co-branding efforts must be reviewed and approved. Ensure that all co-branded materials adhere to MSA's brand guidelines and receive the necessary approvals.

Event sponsorships and partnerships

Any use of the MSA brand in event sponsorships or partnerships requires prior review and approval and must adhere to our brand guidelines.

Custom promotional items

Custom promotional items featuring the MSA brand must be approved. Provide detailed information about the items and their intended use for approval.

Permitted

The following uses of the MSA brand are allowed without prior approval, provided they adhere to the guidelines.

Use of MSA brand in factual statements

You may use the MSA brand in factual statements, such as "We are an authorized MSA Channel Partner," without altering the brand elements.

Linking to MSA's official website

You are permitted to link to MSA's official website from your website or digital platforms.

Displaying MSA-provided badges or certifications

If you have received any badges or certifications from MSA, you may display them as provided, without alterations.

Referencing MSA in educational content

You may reference MSA in educational content, such as training materials or presentations, as long as the brand elements are used correctly and not altered.

Use of Trademarks

Trademarks are permitted to be used according to the guidance from our Trademark Policy page.
