Portable Instrument Training

Course No. ZT-CUPORTINST 

 

This Competent User training is designed specifically for maintenance or instrument shop personnel who will be maintaining, calibrating, and repairing MSA Portable Instruments for use at their facility.

At the completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
  • Bump and calibrate the detector,
  • Understand the readings on the face of the detector,
  • Interpret the date code of the meter and sensors,
  • Understand any alarms from the detector,
  • Diagnose any error messages,
  • Disassemble and reassemble the detector,
  • Replace sensors and display.
 
Included in this course:
  • Up to 4 hours of hands–on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor,
  • List of part numbers of commonly needed parts needed to maintain the detectors,
  • Calibration and bump gas accuracy requirements.
  • Certificate of Instruction.
 

 

Calibration Station Training

Course No. ZT-CUCALSTN

 

This Competent User Calibration Station training course is for maintenance or instrument shop personnel who will be maintaining, calibrating and repairing MSA Calibration Stations for use at their facility.

At the completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
  • Set up the station for meter bumping or calibration.
  • Gang up to 10 calibration stations together.
  • Understand the readings on the face of the station.
  • Understand any alarms from the station.
  • Diagnose any error messages.
  • Disassembly and reassembly of the station,
  • Replace sensors, filters, pump and display.
 
Included in this course:
  • Up to 4 hours of hands–on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor,
  • List of part numbers of commonly needed parts needed to maintain the detectors,
  • Calibration and bump gas accuracy requirements.
  • Certificate of Instruction.
 

 

Portable Instrument Train the Trainer

Course No. ZT-CUPITTT    

 

*Prerequisite is Competent User Portable Instrument Training – Course No. ZT-CUPORTINST

The Train the Trainer - Competent User Portable Instrument course is designed for maintenance or instrument shop personnel and their Supervisors, Managers, and Safety Professionals who have previously successfully completed the initial Competent User Portable Instrument Training – Course No. ZT-CUPORTINST. 

This 1/2 day course is comprised of a review and discussion of:

  • Competent User Portable Instrument course.
  • Principles of adult learning.  
  • Teach back competency.

 

The following is included in the registration fee:

  • 1/2 day of hands-on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor. 
  • Certificate of Instruction.
 

 

Permanent Instrument Training

Course No. ZT- CUPERMINST

 

This Competent User training is designed specifically for maintenance or instrument shop personnel who will be maintaining, calibrating, and repairing MSA Permanent Instruments for use at their facility.

At the completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Properly mount and install all the necessary utilities to the detector.
  • Bump and calibrate the detector.
  • Understand the readings on the face of the detector.
  • Interpret the date code of the meter and sensors.
  • Diagnose any error messages.
  • Disassemble and reassemble the detector.
  • Replace sensors and display.
  • Understand the alarms from the detector and generate an alarm protocol   

 

Included in this course: 

  • Up to 4 hours of hands – on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor.
  • List of part numbers of commonly needed parts needed to maintain the detectors.
  • Calibration and bump gas accuracy requirements.
  • A list of necessary tools to maintain the detector.
  • Certificate of Instruction.
 

 

Permanent Instrument Train the Trainer

Course No. ZT- CUPERMTTT

 

*Prerequisite is Competent User Permanent Instrument Training – Course No. ZT-CUPERMINST

The Train the Trainer - Competent User Permanent Instrument course is designed for maintenance or instrument shop personnel and their Supervisors, Managers, and Safety Professionals who have previously successfully completed the initial Competent User Permanent Instrument Training – Course No. ZT-CUPERMINST. 

This 1/2 day course is comprised of a review and discussion of:

  • Competent User Permanent Instrument course.
  • Principles of adult learning.  
  • Teach back competency.

 

The following is included in the registration fee:

  • 1/2 day of hands-on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor. 
  • Certificate of Instruction.
 

 

SCBA Training

Course No. ZT-CUSCBA

 

MSA’s Competent User SCBA training programs are designed for SCBA users, as well as their Supervisors and Manager, and the Safety Professional.

At the completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the theory of operation of  SCBA 
  • Identify the main components and their function
  • Perform donning and doffing
  • Perform inspection and function tests
  • Understand general maintenance  requirements and cleaning procedures
  • Discuss application specific  procedures

 

Included in this course

  • Up to 4 hours of hands – on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor
  • Competency exam
  • Competent User Certificate of  Instruction.
 

 

SCBA Train the Trainer

Course No. ZT-CUSCBATTT 

 

*Prerequisite is Competent User SCBA  – Course No. ZT-CUSCBA

The Train the Trainer - Competent User for SCBA course is designed for SCBA users, as well as their Supervisors and Manager, and the Safety Professional  who have previously successfully completed the initial Competent User for SCBA Training. Course No.  ZT-CUSCBA.

This 1/2 day course is comprised of a review and discussion of:

  • Review of the Competent Person SCBA course.
  • Principles of adult learning.  
  • Teach back competency.

 

The following is included in the registration fee:

  • 1/2 day of hands-on instruction by an MSA factory trained instructor.
  • Refreshments during the breaks in training.
  • Certificate of Instruction.
